  1. Seats

NHTSA 92V183000 Reported 10,350 vehicles potentially affected HOLIDAY RAMBLER CORP.

The driver and passenger front outboard occupant seat have been designed with the safety belt anchorage on the seat structure. It is possible, in a vehicle crash, that the seat structure would fail to withstand the forces within the limits set forth in FMVSS 207 and FMVSS 210.

Remedy: Relocate the seat belt anchorage assemblies from the seat pedestal assembly to the vehicle frame through the floor structure to reduce the load on the seat pedestal assembly in the event of a sudden stop or accident.

  2. Coil springs (suspension)

NHTSA 90V186000 Reported 336 vehicles potentially affected HOLIDAY RAMBLER CORP.

The suspension coil spring box mounting brackets, which are fastened to the main chassis frame, may fail.

Remedy: Repair to prevent mounting bracket failure.

  3. Hoses, lines/piping, and fittings (fuel system)

NHTSA 90V157000 Reported 154 vehicles potentially affected HOLIDAY RAMBLER CORP.

Incorrect size ear type clamps were used to secure nylon gasoline lines to barbed connector fittings.

Remedy: Install proper size ear type clamps.

Checking a specific 1990 Holiday Rambler Imperial

How do I know if my 1990 Holiday Rambler Imperial has an open recall?

Enter your 17-character VIN above. The VIN is on the driver's side dashboard (visible through the windshield), the driver's door jamb sticker, and your registration or insurance card. The check runs against NHTSA's live database and tells you which campaigns list your vehicle. 3 campaigns currently list the 1990 Holiday Rambler Imperial; your car may already have been repaired under some of them.

Is the recall repair free?

Yes. Under federal law, manufacturers must fix safety recalls at no charge for vehicles up to 15 years old from the date of sale to the first owner. Contact any authorised Holiday Rambler dealer with your VIN and the NHTSA campaign number (for example 90V157000).

What is the difference between a recall and a complaint?

A recall is a safety campaign filed by the manufacturer or ordered by NHTSA, with a defined defect and remedy. A complaint is a report an owner sent to NHTSA; it is not verified, but patterns of complaints are what trigger NHTSA investigations and, eventually, recalls.
