    NHTSA 89V054000 Reported 118 vehicles potentially affected HOLIDAY RAMBLER CORP.

    Close proximity of certain hoses to high heat emitted from the catalytic converter would cause the hose to deteriorate.

    Remedy: Install a heat shield over the catalytic converter to protect the hoses from heat deterioration.

  2. Tank assembly (fuel system)

    NHTSA 85V016000 Reported 600 vehicles potentially affected HOLIDAY RAMBLER CORP.

    Seam leaks may develop in the 70 gallon aluminum fuel tank, allowing gasoline to spill on the ground. This is due to poor seam welding. Consequence of defect. Gasoline spillage creates a fire hazard.

    Remedy: Install a new fuel tank.

    The fuel switch on the dual fuel control has been wired incorrectly. The switch was wired in such a way that the driver could be pumping propane to the carburetor.

    Remedy: The dealer will rewire the fuel select switch at no charge to owner.

  4. Electrical system: front underhood

    NHTSA 82V132000 Reported 1,244 vehicles potentially affected HOLIDAY RAMBLER CORP.

    The routing and fastening of the auxiliary starter cable in the area of the engine compartment is fastened in such a fashion that it may, through contact with a frame member, chafe and create an electrical short.

    Remedy: The auxiliary starter wiring will be refastened; in the event of any chafing, it will be replaced. This will be performed at no cost to owner.

  5. Tank assembly (fuel system)

    NHTSA 82V097000 Reported 1,663 vehicles potentially affected HOLIDAY RAMBLER CORP.

    The welding of the mounting bracket of the gasoline tank could fail to properly secure the fuel tank. If the mounting bracket fails fuel leakage and possible separation of the tank from the vehicle may occur.

    Remedy: Dealer will disconnect the mounting bracket and replace it with strap mounting at no charge to owner. If the fuel tank leaks, it will also be replaced.

  6. Hoses, lines/piping, and fittings (service brakes)

    The absence of a fastener may allow a flexible rubber brake hose to come into contact with the exhaust manifold. The rubber hose may melt and cause a loss of brake fluid and braking power to the rear axles of the vehicles.

    Remedy: Dealer will inspect the routing of the flexible rubber hose and, if necessary, secure the brake line at no cost to owner.

    On certain vehicles a bending of the frame may develop near the points of attachment between the undercarriage and vehicle body. This bending may lead to additional damage to interior and exterior structures of the vehicle.

    Remedy: Dealer will install additional steel plates at the points of undercarriage attachment, reposition existing shock absorbers, and add two more without charge to owner.
