Most recent first. Recall repairs are free at any authorised dealer. Click a recall for the full defect, consequence and remedy text.

  1. Tank assembly (fuel system)

NHTSA 78V036000 Reported 20,000 vehicles potentially affected CHRYSLER CORPORATION

Remedy: Dealer will inspect the fuel tank vent systems for blockage and correct, if necessary. Fuel tanks will be inspected for cracking of the front panel and replaced, if necessary.

  2. Hoses, lines/piping, and fittings (fuel system)

NHTSA 77V212000 Reported 24,000 vehicles potentially affected CHRYSLER CORPORATION

The fuel tubes (fuel tank to pump) on the involved vehicles may be routed such that tube to underbody reinforcement flange interference may result during vehicle operation. Tube abrasion caused by such interference may result in fuel leakage.

Remedy: Dealer will reroute the fuel tube or install a new fuel tube, if damaged, without charge to owner.

  3. Driveline (power train)

NHTSA 77V035000 Reported 2,678 vehicles potentially affected CHRYSLER CORPORATION

The front driving axle wheel hubs on the involved vehicles may fail due to improperly machined spindles. This error may prevent the wheel hub and bearing from seating properly, causing bearing failure and eventual hub fracture. Also, the front wheel could detach due to hub fracture.

Remedy: The dealer will inspect and, if necessary, install a new front axle assembly, without charge to owner.

Checking a specific 1977 Dodge W100

How do I know if my 1977 Dodge W100 has an open recall?

Enter your 17-character VIN above. The VIN is on the driver's side dashboard (visible through the windshield), the driver's door jamb sticker, and your registration or insurance card. The check runs against NHTSA's live database and tells you which campaigns list your vehicle. 3 campaigns currently list the 1977 Dodge W100; your car may already have been repaired under some of them.

Is the recall repair free?

Yes. Under federal law, manufacturers must fix safety recalls at no charge for vehicles up to 15 years old from the date of sale to the first owner. Contact any authorised Dodge dealer with your VIN and the NHTSA campaign number (for example 77V035000).

What is the difference between a recall and a complaint?

A recall is a safety campaign filed by the manufacturer or ordered by NHTSA, with a defined defect and remedy. A complaint is a report an owner sent to NHTSA; it is not verified, but patterns of complaints are what trigger NHTSA investigations and, eventually, recalls.

Recall counts are safety campaigns that list this model year; whether a particular car was already repaired depends on its VIN. How this data is compiled.
