    Remedy: Mack will notify owners, inspect and replace any affected axle beams free of charge. The safety recall began on march 5, 2010. Owners may contact mack at 1-800-866-1177.

  2. Axle assembly (power train)

    NHTSA 09V240000 Reported 10,300 vehicles potentially affected MACK TRUCKS, INC

    Mack is recalling 10,300 model year 2004 and 2005 cl, cv, dm, le, and rb and model year 2004 rd heavy trucks manufactured from october 1, 2003 through september 30, 2004, equipped with axle beams manufactured by bharat forge. The axle beam may have transverse shear lines on the bottom of the axle from the trimming process.

    Remedy: Mack will notify owners, inspect and replace any affected axle beams free of charge. The safety recall began on august 14, 2009. Owners may contact mack at 1-800-866-1177.

  3. Steering

    NHTSA 05V118000 Reported 127 vehicles potentially affected MACK TRUCKS, INC

    On certain heavy-duty, class 8 trucks, the lower and upper steering shaft pinch bolts were improperly tightened.

    Remedy: Dealers will inspect the torque at the suspect joints, and correct if necessary free of charge. The recall began on may 5, 2005. Owners may contact mack at 1-610-709-2131.

  4. Chamber (service brakes)

    NHTSA 04V118000 Reported 35 vehicles potentially affected MACK TRUCKS, INC

    Certain trucks fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 121, "air brake systems." the front brake chamber on some 18,000 lb. And 20,000 lb front axle assemblies is too small to meet stopping distance requirements.
