-
Gas recirculation valve (egr valve) (engine and engine cooling)
The egr valve assembly may develop cracks at the welded joint between the valve and the valve shaft. Cracks may enlarge with continued use and the valve could separate from the shaft.
Remedy: Dealer will install a new egr gasket and valve, if necessary.
-
Engine (engine and engine cooling)
During a piston pin manufacturing process, cracks have occurred in the inner surface of the pin. These cracks could lead to complete breakage of the pin, which in turn could result in engine failure and possible sudden engine seizure.
Remedy: Dealer will replace piston pins on the involved vehicles at no cost to owner.
-
Axle shaft (power train)
The cotter pin, which is used to secure the rear axle shaft lock nut, may have been inadvertently omitted during vehicle assembly. If the cotter pin is missing, the lock nut could loosen during vehicle operation. This could lead to a separation of the brake drum/rear wheel assembly from the axle shaft.
Remedy: Upon inspection, a cotter pin will be installed if missing and the lock nut will be properly secured without charge to owner.

The check runs against NHTSA's live database and tells you which campaigns list your vehicle. 3 campaigns currently list the 1982 Isuzu Pickup Truck; your car may already have been repaired under some of them.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Under federal law, manufacturers must fix safety recalls at no charge for vehicles up to 15 years old from the date of sale to the first owner. Contact any authorised Isuzu dealer with your VIN and the NHTSA campaign number (for example 81V135000).
What is the difference between a recall and a complaint?
A recall is a safety campaign filed by the manufacturer or ordered by NHTSA, with a defined defect and remedy. A complaint is a report an owner sent to NHTSA; it is not verified, but patterns of complaints are what trigger NHTSA investigations and, eventually, recalls.
