  1. Delivery (fuel system)

NHTSA 83V031000 Reported 1,587 vehicles potentially affected HOLIDAY RAMBLER CORP.

The fuel switch on the dual fuel control has been wired incorrectly. The switch was wired in such a way that the driver could be pumping propane to the carburetor.

Remedy: The dealer will rewire the fuel select switch at no charge to owner.

  2. Electrical system: front underhood

NHTSA 82V132000 Reported 1,244 vehicles potentially affected HOLIDAY RAMBLER CORP.

The routing and fastening of the auxiliary starter cable in the area of the engine compartment is fastened in such a fashion that it may, through contact with a frame member, chafe and create an electrical short.

Remedy: The auxiliary starter wiring will be refastened; in the event of any chafing, it will be replaced. This will be performed at no cost to owner.

  3. Hoses, lines/piping, and fittings (service brakes)

NHTSA 82V003000 Reported 414 vehicles potentially affected HOLIDAY RAMBLER CORP.

The absence of a fastener may allow a flexible rubber brake hose to come into contact with the exhaust manifold. The rubber hose may melt and cause a loss of brake fluid and braking power to the rear axles of the vehicles.

Remedy: Dealer will inspect the routing of the flexible rubber hose and, if necessary, secure the brake line at no cost to owner.

Checking a specific 1982 Holiday Rambler Rambler

How do I know if my 1982 Holiday Rambler Rambler has an open recall?

Enter your 17-character VIN above. The VIN is on the driver's side dashboard (visible through the windshield), the driver's door jamb sticker, and your registration or insurance card. The check runs against NHTSA's live database and tells you which campaigns list your vehicle. 3 campaigns currently list the 1982 Holiday Rambler Rambler; your car may already have been repaired under some of them.

Is the recall repair free?

Yes. Under federal law, manufacturers must fix safety recalls at no charge for vehicles up to 15 years old from the date of sale to the first owner. Contact any authorised Holiday Rambler dealer with your VIN and the NHTSA campaign number (for example 82V003000).

What is the difference between a recall and a complaint?

A recall is a safety campaign filed by the manufacturer or ordered by NHTSA, with a defined defect and remedy. A complaint is a report an owner sent to NHTSA; it is not verified, but patterns of complaints are what trigger NHTSA investigations and, eventually, recalls.

Recall counts are safety campaigns that list this model year; whether a particular car was already repaired depends on its VIN. How this data is compiled.
