  1. Suspension: lower arm

NHTSA 89V052000 Reported 500,000 vehicles potentially affected CHRYSLER CORPORATION

Front suspension crossmember may corrode and fail at lower control arm rear pivot mounts if operated where salt is used to aid in snow removal.

Remedy: Install attachment reinforcement brackets to prevent control arm detachment as a result of corrosion weakening.

    Model years: 1983

  2. Seats

NHTSA 89V011000 Reported 60,000 vehicles potentially affected CHRYSLER CORPORATION

Drivers seat frame may experience fatigue failure at one (front/outboard) of its four attachments.

Remedy: Replace drivers seat frame with a strenghtened version; also, reinforce power adjuster front crossmember to increase rigidity of seat attachment system.

    Model years: 1985

  3. Fuel system, gasoline

NHTSA 88V105000 Reported 580,000 vehicles potentially affected CHRYSLER CORPORATION

Fuel leakage may occur in low ambient temperature operation at connections of an engine compartment fuel supply hose to the pressure regulator and to the fuel rail.

Remedy: Relocate pressure regulator; replace fuel supply with formed hose with revised routing configuration to ensure sealing integrity.

    Model years: 1985, 1986, 1987

  4. Power adjust (seats)

NHTSA 88V061000 Reported 1,500 vehicles potentially affected CHRYSLER CORPORATION

Remedy: Replace frame with proper power seat frame.

    Model years: 1985, 1986

  5. Interior/under dash (electrical system)

NHTSA 86V028000 Reported 7,600 vehicles potentially affected CHRYSLER CORPORATION

A resistor in the electronic panel cluster may be subjected to an electrical current overload due to failure of a switching transistor. Consequence of defect: the overheated resistor could ignite and start an instrument panel fire.

Remedy: Modify instrument panel cluster by replacing the resistor with a fused resistor that will not ignite if overloaded.

    Model years: 1986

  6. Hoses, lines/piping, and fittings (fuel system)

NHTSA 85V010000 Reported 53,000 vehicles potentially affected CHRYSLER CORPORATION

An engine compartment fuel hose routed to the fuel system pressure regulator may have an inadequately tightened hose clamp. Consequence of defect: the fuel hose could leak and result in an engine compartment fire.

Remedy: Reposition and tighten to the proper torque level of the fuel hose clamp.

    Model years: 1985

  7. Hoses, lines/piping, and fittings (fuel system)

NHTSA 84V147000 Reported 340,000 vehicles potentially affected CHRYSLER CORPORATION

The potential for fuel leakage exists in the engine compartment at the fuel reservoir seam and its hose connections. The fuel reservoir is a silver colored can mounted to the air cleaner.

Remedy: The hoses and the metal tube that attaches to the fuel reservoir will be replaced with new components. The dealer will also replace or reseal the reservoir.

    Model years: 1984

  8. Hoses, lines/piping, and fittings (service brakes)

NHTSA 83V060000 Reported 3,785 vehicles potentially affected CHRYSLER CORPORATION

Location of hydraulic brake tube to both rear wheels causes interference and chafing between the tubes and rear suspension trailing arm pivot brackets.

Remedy: Dealer will inspect rear wheel brake tubes and reroute to ensure proper tube to pivot bracket clearance. Any damaged tubes will also be replaced.

    Model years: 1983

  9. Hoses, lines/piping, and fittings (service brakes)
