  1. Hoses, lines/piping, and fittings (fuel system)

NHTSA 96V150000 Reported 30 vehicles potentially affected WINNEBAGO INDUSTRIES, INC.

The liquid propane (lp) gas supply hose located adjacent to the lp tank can contact the tank plumbing guard causing the hose to wear through allowing lp gas to be released.

Remedy: Dealers will add an elbow to the manifold pipe which will redirect the hose around the guard giving the hose adequate clearance from the edge of the guard.

  2. Labels (equipment)

NHTSA 96V145000 Reported 39 vehicles potentially affected WINNEBAGO INDUSTRIES, INC.

The certification label on these vehicles contain incorrect tire pressure data. This does not conform to the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 120, "tire selection and rims for motor vehicles other than passenger cars."

Remedy: Owners will be provided with new certification labels and installation instructions. If the owner so desires, winnebago dealers will install the label for them.

The check runs against NHTSA's live database and tells you which campaigns list your vehicle. 2 campaigns currently list the 1996 Winnebago WKM34RQ; your car may already have been repaired under some of them.

Is the recall repair free?

Yes. Under federal law, manufacturers must fix safety recalls at no charge for vehicles up to 15 years old from the date of sale to the first owner. Contact any authorised Winnebago dealer with your VIN and the NHTSA campaign number (for example 96V145000).

What is the difference between a recall and a complaint?

A recall is a safety campaign filed by the manufacturer or ordered by NHTSA, with a defined defect and remedy. A complaint is a report an owner sent to NHTSA; it is not verified, but patterns of complaints are what trigger NHTSA investigations and, eventually, recalls.

Recall counts are safety campaigns that list this model year; whether a particular car was already repaired depends on its VIN. How this data is compiled.
