  1. Buckle assembly (seat belts)

NHTSA 91V053000 Reported 640,000 vehicles potentially affected CHRYSLER CORPORATION

Inboard front seat belt buckle assembly straps can suffer fatigue failure of the strap near its anchor position.

Remedy: Replace fatigued straps or retrofit straps with a reinforcement plate and removal of an antirotation tab to prevent fatigue failure.

  2. Differential proportional valve (service brakes)

NHTSA 90V145000 Reported 100 vehicles potentially affected CHRYSLER CORPORATION

Incorrect screws may have been used in installing the load sensing brake proportioning valve to its bracket causing the clamping load to be less than intended.

Remedy: Replace proportioning valve to bracket screws with proper length screws.

  3. Engine (engine and engine cooling)

NHTSA 89V237000 Reported 634,000 vehicles potentially affected CHRYSLER CORPORATION

The engine valve cover gasket may dislocate and allow an engine oil leak at the gasket.

Checking a specific 1990 Plymouth Voyager

How do I know if my 1990 Plymouth Voyager has an open recall?

Enter your 17-character VIN above. The VIN is on the driver's side dashboard (visible through the windshield), the driver's door jamb sticker, and your registration or insurance card. The check runs against NHTSA's live database and tells you which campaigns list your vehicle. 3 campaigns currently list the 1990 Plymouth Voyager; your car may already have been repaired under some of them.

Is the recall repair free?

Yes. Under federal law, manufacturers must fix safety recalls at no charge for vehicles up to 15 years old from the date of sale to the first owner. Contact any authorised Plymouth dealer with your VIN and the NHTSA campaign number (for example 89V237000).

What is the difference between a recall and a complaint?

A recall is a safety campaign filed by the manufacturer or ordered by NHTSA, with a defined defect and remedy. A complaint is a report an owner sent to NHTSA; it is not verified, but patterns of complaints are what trigger NHTSA investigations and, eventually, recalls.

Recall counts are safety campaigns that list this model year; whether a particular car was already repaired depends on its VIN. How this data is compiled.
