Water heater (equipment)
On certain motor homes, the water heater exhaust on the curve side wall under the back side of the kitchen slideout room box terminates under the slide box when in the extended position. This design could create a risk of migration of carbon monoxide into the interior of the motor home.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the water heater with a 16 gallon atwood unit that has a different exhaust termination. The recall began march 25, 2005. Owners should contact monaco at 1-800-685-6545.

How do I know if my 2005 Monaco Coach Knight has an open recall?

The check runs against NHTSA's live database and tells you which campaigns list your vehicle. 1 campaign currently lists the 2005 Monaco Coach Knight; your car may already have been repaired under it.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Under federal law, manufacturers must fix safety recalls at no charge for vehicles up to 15 years old from the date of sale to the first owner. Contact any authorised Monaco Coach dealer with your VIN and the NHTSA campaign number (for example 04V598000).
What is the difference between a recall and a complaint?
A recall is a safety campaign filed by the manufacturer or ordered by NHTSA, with a defined defect and remedy. A complaint is a report an owner sent to NHTSA; it is not verified, but patterns of complaints are what trigger NHTSA investigations and, eventually, recalls.
