  2. Service brakes, hydraulic

    NHTSA 04V552000 Reported 317 vehicles potentially affected JAYCO, INC.

    Certain travel trailers have the potential for the brake wires to be improperly secured along the trailer frame. This could lead to the brake wires coming in contact with the axle mounting plate and chafing through the protective insulation.

    Remedy: Dealers will replace and re-route the axle brake wire to clear the axle mounting plate. The recall began december 1, 2004. Owners should contact jayco at 574-825-0608.

    NHTSA 04V553000 Reported 698 vehicles potentially affected JAYCO, INC.

    On certain travel trailers, the federal identification label has the incorrect tire inflation listed.

    Remedy: Dealers will remove the incorrect federal identification label and install a new corrected federal identification label. The recall began december 2004. Owners should contact jayco at 574-825-0608.

    NHTSA 04V363000 Reported 1,437 vehicles potentially affected JAYCO, INC.

    On certain travel trailers equipped with optional 6 gallon dsi gas/electric water heaters with remotely operated 110-volt water heater on/off switching, excessive heat can be generated at the wire connections to the water heater while the heater is being operated on 110 volts.

    Remedy: Dealers will conduct a detailed inspection of the water heater wiring, remote relay and remove any excessive insulation at the connection between the supply line and the internal water heater wiring in the water…
