  5. Coil springs (suspension)

NHTSA 88V018000 Reported 16,000 vehicles potentially affected JAGUAR CARS

Certain front suspension lower spring pan fixings may fail due to stress corrosion.

Remedy: Install revised specification front suspension spring pan fixings.

    Model years: 1988

  6. Brake lights (exterior lighting)

NHTSA 87V105000 Reported 3,500 vehicles potentially affected JAGUAR CARS

Remedy: Install a modified microswitch in all vehicles.

    Model years: 1988

  7. Fuel pump (fuel system)

NHTSA 82V022000 Reported 3,718 vehicles potentially affected JAGUAR CARS

Certain vehicles may be fitted with an unauthorized fuel pump electrical inertia switch. This switch has a tin coating added to the contacts that create the potential for a high electrical resistance. This could cause overheating and possible distortion of the plastic mounting around the fixed contact. This could result in inability to…

Remedy: Dealer will inspect and, if necessary, replace the inertia switch at no cost to owner.

    Model years: 1982
