  1. Fuses and circuit breakers (electrical system)

NHTSA 79V273000 Reported 15,529 vehicles potentially affected AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.

The fuse holder contact spring on the involved vehicles is defective in that it can cause high temperatures to develop at the fuse, and the fuse may fail. Failure of the main fuse would cause all electrical functions to cease, including lights and ignition.

Remedy: Dealer will install a fuse box which contains a more effective spring, at no cost to owner.

    Model years: 1977, 1978

  2. Engine (engine and engine cooling)

NHTSA 79V112000 Reported 11,183 vehicles potentially affected AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.

The threaded insert for the oil filter retaining bolt may not be strong enough to withstand the stress caused by temperature and pressure, particularly in the event that the oil filter bolt has been overtightened.

Remedy: Dealer will install a different type oil filter bolt of increased strength.

    Model years: 1979

  3. Engine (engine and engine cooling)

NHTSA 79V065000 Reported 5,700 vehicles potentially affected AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.

If the countershaft oil seal is subjected to extreme oil pressure variation, the countershaft oil seal may be split, allowing oil to leak. Leaking oil can come into contact with the rear tire, which can result in traction reduction.

Remedy: Countershaft oil seal will be replaced and a modified "oil path body" will be installed to reduce the oil pressure at the countershaft oil seal. Repairs will be performed at no charge to owner.

    Model years: 1979

  4. Driveline (power train)

NHTSA 71V147000 Reported 28,000 vehicles potentially affected AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.

    Model years: 1969, 1970
