Linkages (steering)
On certain trucks, during assembly, the drag link attachment nuts at the pitman arm and steering arm may have been incorrectly torqued. Residual grease and paint which was applied as a rust inhibitor on the steering arm may have contributed to a loss of torque after assembly.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the steering arm tightness and remove all grease and paint from the steering arms and retorque the draglink attachment nuts at the steering arm and pitman arm. The recall began on may 12, 2006.…

What is the difference between a recall and a complaint?
A recall is a safety campaign filed by the manufacturer or ordered by NHTSA, with a defined defect and remedy. A complaint is a report an owner sent to NHTSA; it is not verified, but patterns of complaints are what trigger NHTSA investigations and, eventually, recalls.
