  1. Electrical system: wiring

NHTSA 95V092000 Reported 13,000 vehicles potentially affected FORD MOTOR COMPANY

A connector in the wiring where the tilt hood mounted lamps attach to the vehicle wiring harness was built without sealing plugs. Moisture, road salt or other contaminants can enter the connection resulting in crossed circuits, shorts or corrosion of the wiring of the connector.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the connector and install sealing plugs in the open cavities. If the inspection reveals corrosion, a new connector will be installed.

    Model years: 1994, 1995

  2. Service brakes, air: controls, pedals and linkages

NHTSA 90V121000 Reported 15,260 vehicles potentially affected FORD MOTOR COMPANY

Secondary service reservoir air check valves may not seat properly due to a mechanical interference condition between a circular brass guide and the wall of a cylindrical ferrule in which the brass guide is intended to move freely.

Remedy: Install revised design secondary service reservoir check valve components.

    Model years: 1989, 1990

  3. Vehicle speed control

NHTSA 86V110000 Reported 730 vehicles potentially affected FORD MOTOR COMPANY

Hand throttle controls were not identified either on the control knob or on the instrument panel as required by FMVSS 101. Consequence of defect: trucks are not in compliance with FMVSS 101, controls and displays.

Remedy: Word throttle will be affixed on or adjacent to the throttle control.

    Model years: 1984, 1985, 1986

  4. Gear box (other than rack and pinion) (steering)

NHTSA 84V100000 Reported 2,757 vehicles potentially affected FORD MOTOR COMPANY

Inadequate lubrication of the steering shaft could cause steering shaft assemblies to separate without warning.

Remedy: Upon inspection, the intermediate steering gear will be lubricated or replaced. In addition, a clamp will be installed on the lower shaft to restrict its movement.

    Model years: 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984
