    NHTSA 14V601000 Reported 813 vehicles potentially affected Altec Industries Inc.

    Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 DC1317 wood chippers manufactured September 1, 2011, to July 14, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the fasteners that attach the chipper cutting disc bearing to the unit may fail and the chipper disc may detach.

    Remedy: Altec has notified owners, and dealers will replace the disc bearing mounting bolts, free of charge. The recall began on October 29, 2014. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for…

    NHTSA 12V383000 Reported 227 vehicles potentially affected ALTEC INDUSTRIES INC.

    Altec Environmental Products (AEP) is recalling certain model year 2008-2009 DC1217 and DC1317 and model year 2008-2011 DC1317HP wood chippers. Cracks could develop in the wood chipper frame.

    Remedy: AEP will notify owners, and dealers will install frame reinforcement kits to all affected units. The safety recall began on August 24, 2012. Owners may contact Altec Environmental Products at 1-877-462-5832.
