  1. Labels (equipment)

NHTSA 82V072000 Reported 120 vehicles potentially affected JAGUAR CARS

The vehicle certification labels and vehicle idendification number plates may not have been installed on the involved vehicles. This does not comply with federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 115, "vehicle identification number-basic requirements".

Remedy: Vehicle certification label and VIN plate, if missing, will be installed without charge to owner.

    Model years: 1978, 1979

  2. Emission control (engine and engine cooling)

NHTSA 79V019000 Reported 17,800 vehicles potentially affected JAGUAR CARS

Due to the angle of fitment of the fuel tank separator, the separator hose may become kinked. This kinking may result in fuel line restriction which may cause the fuel tank to collapse.

Remedy: The dealer will replace the fuel connector hose in a way that will prevent separator hose kinking. This will be done at no cost to owner.

    Model years: 1976, 1977, 1978

  3. Caliper (service brakes)

A casting defect may be present in certain front brake caliper assemblies. This defect may result in eventual cracking of a brake caliper securing a lug. This would lead to decreased braking performance.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace all suspect brake calipers without charge to owners.

    Model years: 1979

  4. Emission control (engine and engine cooling)

NHTSA 79V045000 Reported 3,700 vehicles potentially affected JAGUAR CARS

The possibility exists that the fuel non-evaporative loss system flexible connector, adjacent to the carbon canister, may become trapped by the right side horn attachment bracket when closing the hood. Trapping of the connector could cause a restriction in the non-evaporative loss system which may result in restricted fuel tank…

Remedy: Dealer will readjust the horn bracket angle and reroute and secure the "u" shaped connection pipe at no charge.

    Model years: 1979

  5. Accelerator pedal (vehicle speed control)

NHTSA 78V027000 Reported 1,400 vehicles potentially affected JAGUAR CARS

  6. Switch (exterior lighting)

NHTSA 78V013000 Reported 107,950 vehicles potentially affected JAGUAR CARS

The headlamp switches may malfunction on the involved vehicles. Should this occur, loss of headlamp and taillamp illumination may result. Switch breakage will only occur when the switch is being turned on or off.

Remedy: Dealer will replace the defective switch at no charge.

    Model years: 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974
