Defect
The secondary hood latch rod can bind on the guide bracket and prevent engagement of the secondary latch.
Safety risk
This condition can cause the hood to fly up obstructing the driver's vision increasing the potential for a vehicle accident.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the secondary hood latch bracket.
