Defect

Mitsubishi fuso is recalling certain model year 2010 fe83d, fe84d, fe85d and fg84d vehicles manufactured between october 1 and december 25, 2009. The weather resistance properties of the air intake duct rubber cushions is insufficient. During normal vehicle operation, the rubber cushions deteriorate and crack, causing abnormal noise.

Safety risk

All of the rubber cushions could crack, allowing the air intake duct to fall off of the truck increasing the risk of crash.

Remedy

Dealers will replace all of the air intake duct rubber cushions with components manufactured to proper specifications. This remedy will be performed free of charge. The safety recall began on february 19, 2010. Owners may contact mitsubishi fuso at 1-856-467-4500.
