Defect

Sprinter will recall 6 my 2007 dodge 3500 and freightliner 3500 vehicles. The threaded bush of the brake adjustment of the parking brake may break. The threaded bush together with the adjustment screw may detach from its bracket.

Safety risk

If this occurred, the parking brake function may be lost. This could allow the vehicle to move inadvertently and cause a crash without warning.

Remedy

Dealers will replace the parking brake adjustment. The recall is expected to begin on or about march 27, 2009. Owners may contact sprinter at 1-843-695-5000.
