Defect
On certain fire trucks equipped with certain nmb-minebea kingpin ballpin suspension assemblies, the kingpin ballpin assembly can fracture possibly allowing the associated wheel to disengage from part of the suspension.
Safety risk
Wheel separation while the vehicle is in use could lead to a vehicle crash.
Remedy
Ferrara has replaced the king pins on all twelve fire trucks. No further action is necessary.
