Defect
On certain tandem dump trailers, due to improper material used on the axle spindle, the spindle can bend or break.
Safety risk
A broken spindle can allow the wheel to separate from the trailer, resulting in a vehicle crash.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the axle after testing, if necessary. The recall began on january 10, 2006. Owners may contact east manufacturing at 1-888-405-3278.
