Defect
On certain motor homes, the hitch receiver may have missing reinforcing plates. When a load is applied to the hitch, it may become partially detached from the frame if these plates are missing.
Safety risk
This condition, if not addressed, could result in a crash, personal injury or death.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the reinforcing plates with new hardware. The recall began on january 10, 2006. Owners may contact jayco at 1-800-283-8267.
