Defect

On certain motorcycles, the front brake hose can become trapped between the lower steering flange and the steering lock peg when the vehicle is cornering.

Safety risk

This condition could cause a loss of front brake fluid pressure and damage to the brake hose, which could rupture causing front brake failure. This could result in a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will install a retaining clip on the front brake hose. The recall is expected to begin during december 2004. Owners should contact ducati at 1-408-253-0499.

Notes

Customers can also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
