Defect

On some trailer mounted aerial work platform booms, certain personnel platform elevating jibs and associated composite bearings can fail.

Safety risk

This can lead to damage and eventual failure of the jib structure, which could result in the platform dropping some distance.

Remedy

Genie will provide a jib assembly to the owners of the affected machines. The recall began on august 9, 2004. Owners should contact genie at 1-800-536-1800.
