   NHTSA 00V363000 Reported November 6, 2000 70 vehicles potentially affected NORTH AMERICAN BUS INDUSTRIES

   Vehicle description: 60' articulated transit buses. These buses could become unstable at speeds over 45 MPH should the hydraulic dampening system in the articulated joint malfunction.

   Remedy: Dealers will modify these vehicles.

   NHTSA 99V027002 Reported August 12, 1999 217 vehicles potentially affected NORTH AMERICAN BUS INDUSTRIES

   Vehicle description: articulated bus. These buses may become unstable at speeds over 45 MPH should the hydraulic dampening system in the articulated joint loose pressure.

   Remedy: Dealers will modify these buses. The modifications include an additional interlock system that will gradually bring the vehicle to a stop utilizing the third axle brakes.
